The girls probably went to go see about that lawyer in France and got the vampire's name cleared, and with him no longer a criminal and a fugitive, he was no longer under the jurisdiction of the International Vampire Hunters' Bureau. Too bad for Alexander Van Helsing! Leastways, that's probably what happened. Whatever happened next did not contain any puns at all, so it is left for the reader to infer and extrapolate.

I suppose you are all wondering what the schedule looks like for the rest of the week! Well, here's the deal. On Thursday, November 2nd, I will be publishing a special Birthday Comic for Chris Todd, the president of the Pungirls! Air Conditioner and Fan Club. After that, in view of the crazy crazy cartoonist-strain that this art-intensive serialized storyline has put on me, I will be taking a week off to relax it out and think about the future of Pungirls!. You can expect a new strip for certain on Friday the 10th. You can also expect that it will not be part of a larger storyline. I seriously must have been insane.

Jason Edelstein's birthday was on Thursday of this past week. If you haven't seen it already, you can see his extremely special birthday comic right here.
Stay tuned for the thrilling and (excessively?) dramatic conclusion of Dmitri's tale. The final installment shall be installed on All Hallow's Eve itself, October 31st. How apropos is that?

Today, Thursday, the 26th of October, is the birthday of my old friend Jason. Let's take a moment's break from the current storyline of Dmitri's tragic past and celebrate Jason's birthday. I intend to get back to the vampire storyline and get a comic up over the weekend, and post up the RIVETING CONCLUSION on HALLOWEEN. Seeeee! Seeeeeeeeeeeee!

And we are back to having puns. Now all we need is girls and the cycle will be complete.

Yeah...so much for the whole punchline thing. I mostly needed this comic to advance the storyline, and I couldn't think of an adequate pun for the gag. Or at least, I could only think of puns so forced they would make you gag...
Movin' right along then. Somethin' grabs ahold of me tightly, flow like a harpoon daily and nightly.

This is probably the saddest Pungirls! ever. But that's a good thing, because it means that Monday's cannot be any sadder than this. It will probably even have a punchline.
Hey, did you realize that I made deadline for every single day this week? Solid, man. Feels good.

Man, we are making good time this week! I had this strip finished a day ahead of schedule. Be sure to tune in for Friday's comic...if you can stomach the drama!

Quite pleased with the craftsmanship on this one. It feels good to be on time, too. And the gag's sophistication is worthy of Cat and Girl. I hope you get a good laugh out of it, and that you enjoy the cool artwork. It is there for you!

Yeah, I dunno what I'm gonna do for next week. Haven't even got the lineart finished! We'll see, though...we'll figure something out. Further updates later. Maybe some sort of schedule or something.

I'm sort of pleased with this one, but as usual it took way too long to do. I'm glad that I managed to get a passable and vague-yet-not-aesthetically-unpleasing background going on without a major investment of effort, and I like Alexander Van Helsing's design okay, but there are too many colors on him and he is going to take forever to do every time that I color him. And I am going to be coloring him a lot in the next few strips. Son of a gun!
I keep missing my deadlines. Am I trying to do too much? Or do I just need to work smarter and not harder? I really am going all-out on the art for these vampire strips, and it's costing me.

Oh my gosh. Finally. I had hoped to get this one up before midnight, but no such luck.
It's probably on the same artistic level quality-wise as the rest of the strips in the vampire storyline so far, but I think it's my strip with the lowest payoff of quality-for-effort to date. It looks about as good as other strips, but I sunk so much time into this thing it's not even funny, and didn't even make my deadline. And you know what? I must be totally insane because I wanted to add lamplight highlights to the characters' faces inside the train. I am actually regretting that I cannot waste even more time getting marginal increases in aesthetics.
Why am I pouring so much effort into a stupid comic with such brain-dead, unfunny pun-based gags? Do people enjoy them more for all my efforts? And yet I keep going.

There really is a city in Belgium called Hoboken. Wikipedia it. No lie. Also on the side of the train cars it says "Zug."
